whatever.

first week

There are many challenges during first week.
Main problem is English ...
I've prepared for this "shock" but it still is difficult.
British English is not the same thing as we learn in Taiwan.
During lunch break these days, I could only understand 30% of others' chat.
It got worse when I joined a visual conference in the evening at Wednesday.
That makes me feel so frustrated.
After all, language is the basic thing here.
If I cannot communicate with people efficiently,
I can do nothing.

Dr. Li-Chia is so kind to me.
She cooked me lunch and dinner these days,
sharing me everything she knows.
She concerns a lot about my life and how i feel about all the surrounding here, acting like my experienced sister.
However, while we discussed about my visiting program, assignments and reports,
she becomes quite strict.
In her opinion, graduated from Institute of clinical pharmacy in NCKU means well-trained.
Also, she'd like me not to waste any day here.
I adore her as a great teaching and mentor model.
(Although I myself do not like teaching actually..)
It's my pleasure to have she here.

"It's pretty important to know who you are."
During the first week, this sentence means much to me.
In Taiwan, no one would really care others' opinions.
If somebody do not know who he is, where he goes, what he likes...
others would tell him to follow.
But this can not happen here.
It's bizarre for not knowing and not trying to figure out,
especially being an adult.
It's a crucial concept of life.

Arrived at Nottingham

After 3 days in London,
I arrived at Nottingham this afternoon.
Dr. Li-Chia met me at the rail station,
and she is not like what i imagine before.
She is a thin, tiny but energetic lady.
We had a pleasant beginning,
she told me lots of useful info of the city of nottingham,
taking me to the university,
helping me arranging the accommodation,
showing me the school of pharmacy and her office,
and we had dinner together.
But she is quite serious and tough in her work..
wish i can follow her as soon as possible.

Tomorrow i will go to visit a pharmacist clinic of pain control :)
